In 1990, Riverside Press in Dallas, Texas installed a Macintosh Quadra 950 computer in their prepress department to output film and later CTP. While working there I trained on a Macintosh loaded with programs such as Quark, Illustrator, and Photoshop. I also registered for a Apple computer workshop that year. The promotion price for this class was the high temperature in Dallas that day. Below are four Adobe graphic applications I have mastered over the years. Even though I have had extensive experience with many other applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word, I believe these programs are the industry standards for doing crisp and dynamic graphics.

In March of 1993, at the InfoMart in Dallas, Texas I attended an Adobe seminar introducing the PDF. Pdf workflow systems began to arise and evolve as desktop computing became the new prepress environment in printing. I am a professional graphic designer and prepress technician with decades of experience using acrobat pro along with other third party software, such as Pitstop and Heidelberg's Prinect.  I have spent countless hours dissecting pdf files, breaking password protection and reworking them when native files aren't supplied. Acrobat's preflighting has powerful editing controls . This is mainly needed when handling pdf's for pagination and digital output. 

All the pdf's I construct have their preferences set to the highest print quality and correct color standards. Knowing color space, resolution, bit depth, with Stochastic  screening, encryption, slicing, fonts not embedded, and files that have too many vector points and complex transparent layers, can be difficult to modify when setting the correct parameters for printing.
 

Illustrator was released in 1987. However Freehand was also being use and then discontinued in 2007. I have created countless digital files for steel rule dies and CNC specific digital cut files for different projects applications. I have always gotten great satisfaction in seeing the end results that those files produced, such as LED Signs, Airport Display Panels, Pocket Folders and Gas Station Signage among many others. I feel extremely comfortable using  Adobe Illustrator with all it's advanced features such as layering, transparencies, pathfinder, and rasterizing effects. 

In June of 1991, was when I started working with Photoshop 2.0. I spent the whole night after getting the program trying to figure out how to create a clipping path. I was making play money for my son's birthday with his picture on it. I am very well versed in this software program and can use advanced features such as the timeline to make animated gifs and I am extremely accurate at creating vector paths fo.  I loved using this software to create many wonderful  or clients like Ylang Ylang  Jewelers in the Galleria, Magazines Covers for the US Postal Service, and Sports Programs for the MISD.

If you haven't used Quark Express in the past you haven't lived. Quark is a great program for layouts and publication work. Adobe took Pagemaker and created Indesign which is the unparalleled layout program to date. I have many years of experience with Indesign and combined with a BA in Art my composition skills are extremely sharp and alligned.
